Hurricane Response Finance Delegate

An international humanitarian charity is looking for a Finance Delegate to work with its hurricane response team in the Caribbean in the wake of Hurricane Irma and subsequent hurricanes in the area.
The Finance Delegate is responsible for ensuring the set-up and implementation of all financial and administrative systems, processes and procedures for the organisation's Hurricane Response Programme in the Caribbean, working closely with the Overseas Branches of the organisation and training their staff. The Delegate will also ensure compliance with the organisation's financial policies and procedures, guaranteeing finance and administration controls are robust and yet flexible enough to meet the requirements of programmes. Finally the Delegate will contribute to the overall achievement of the programme goals by supporting and advising senior management in all finance related activities.
You will be a qualified accountant with strong audit and internal controls knowledge, as well as knowledge of procurement processes, insurance and contracting. You will have previous experience of developing financial systems, processes and procedures, experience of documenting financial procedures, as well as of supporting budget and forecast preparation. You will also have good experience of training staff and handing over responsibilities, as well as working to build the capacity of local partners, and experience of working with international humanitarian programmes. You must be fluent in written and spoken English for this role, whilst fluency in any other languages relevant to the region would be an advantage.
