Band B

·         NGOs with an annual income of less than GBP10 million.

·         NGOs with Mango Supporter status (please enquire for more details on how to qualify for this category).

Bursary scheme

Please click here to download a printable version of this section.

Thanks to the generous support of sponsors, we are pleased to advise that a limited number of bursaries are now available to help small, poorly resourced, local NGOs attend Mango’s FM1 Practical Financial Management: Getting the Basics Right and FM2 Strategic Financial Management courses held in countries outside the UK.

The purpose of Mango’s bursary fund is to improve access to Mango training courses to poorly-resourced NGOs who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend. The bursary scheme has limited resources available to it and this means that we have to introduce conditions on who can apply and how it is used.

Please read these notes carefully before applying for a bursary:

  1. To apply for a bursary, it is necessary to complete a bursary application form. Click here for an application form.
  2. Mango bursaries are dependent on funds being available for selected Mango training events.
  3. There are a limited number of bursary places available for our FM1 and FM2 courses only. Bursaries are not available for courses held in the United Kingdom.
  4. Bursaries are available to poorly-resourced NGOs based in developing countries. International NGOs and those registered in Western Europe, North America and Australia may not apply for bursaries and are encouraged to seek sponsorship elsewhere.
  5. Mango bursaries are available to contribute towards Mango course fees only. Bursaries are not available for the cost of food & accommodation and travel.
  6. Bursaries are not given to cover 100% of course fees – a contribution is sought from applicants in all instances. The inability to contribute something to course fees will, unfortunately, disqualify applicants. The more that the applicant organisation can contribute, or find a co-sponsor to contribute, the more likely it is that a bursary will be awarded.
  7. Bursary applications will be considered on merit. We will give priority to small and poorly-resourced NGOs who would not otherwise be able to benefit from Mango’s training service and where the training will have greatest impact.
  8. Mango will not award more than two bursaries to the same organisation in the same calendar year. Where demand for bursaries is high, only one bursary per organisation per course will be awarded. Priority will be given to NGOs based in the country where the training takes place.
  9. Bursaries are awarded on the basis of an individual application. Once awarded, bursaries are not transferable to other individuals in the NGO.
  10. Mango will make the decision on bursary awards. Applicants will be informed of the decision as soon as possible and not less than 4 weeks before the start of the course.
