Witnessing the birth of a Republic

When I entered Nepal it was a Kingdom and now it is a Republic. I had to cut short some of my days at work as a 3 day public holiday was announced. There was increased security in the form of riot police and army on the streets and a bomb did go off not far from where I was staying.

Because of the holidays I could not complete all of my audit testing but I had done enough however to have a close-out meeting on 30th May with Shalini (The Country Director) and her finance team (Hari & Anil). I made 9 recommendations and the team agreed to all of them. This was very pleasing for me and hopefully it will further enhance SPW Nepal's financial management framework.

I had a great time in Nepal during a momentous period of change for the country. I thank the SPW Nepal team for their support, patience and for the great gifts.

Now off to India.....
