Terms & Conditions

Please read these guidance notes carefully before you apply for a Mango bursary (training scholarship).

  1. There are a limited number of bursary places available for our FM1, FM2 and FM8 courses only. Help is not available for courses held in the United Kingdom.
  2. Bursaries are available to poorly-resourced NGOs based in developing countries. International NGOs and those registered in Western Europe, North America and Australia may not apply for bursaries and are encouraged to seek sponsorship elsewhere.
  3. Bursaries are available to contribute towards Mango course fees only. No help is available for the cost of overnight accommodation, subsistence or travel.
  4. We do not award bursaries for 100% of course fees – a contribution is required from applicants in all cases. The inability to contribute something to course fees will, unfortunately, disqualify applicants.
  5. Bursary applications will be considered on merit. We will give priority to small and poorly-resourced NGOs who would not otherwise be able to benefit from Mango’s training service and where the training will have greatest impact.
  6. We will not award more than two bursaries to the same organisation in the same calendar year. Where demand for bursaries is high, we will only approve one bursary per organisation per course.
  7. We will give priority to NGOs based in the country where the training takes place. We will not approve applications from NGOs based in other countries where we regularly run our training.
  8. We will not approve bursaries where the cost of international travel and accommodation is likely to significantly exceed the value of the bursary award.
  9. Bursaries are awarded on the basis of an individual application. Once awarded, bursaries are not transferable to other individuals in the NGO.
  10. We will inform applicants within one week if they have passed the first stage of the application process. We will make the final decision on bursary awards no later than 6 weeks before the start of the course.
